Constructed in the 18th and 19th centuries, the 1782/1834 Grist Miller’s House is listed on National Park Service’s National Register of Historic Places. Originally home to Bethlehem’s mill operator and his family, the historic building reopened to the public in 2025 after being closed for nearly two decades. It now hosts exhibitions highlighting the 18th and 19th-century trades found in Bethlehem and offers weekend arts and trades workshops. It is also the starting point for several historic tours, including the Birthplace of Industry Walking Tour that explores the adjacent Colonial Industrial Quarter, home to more than 35 crafts and trades in the mid-1750s, making it what is widely regarded as the nation’s first industrial center.
