Saturday, June 13th at 1:00 pm 2:00 pm

On Saturday, June 13th at 1 p.m. in the Old Chapel, Dr. Cheryl Boots will lead singing and tell stories of the Civil Rights Movement activists during the mid-20th century U.S. In those violent and unsettled days of Jim Crow racial discrimination, people who wanted all Americans to have equal access to public facilities and to voting rights organized to create change. They boycotted discriminatory libraries, stores, beaches, buses, and other public facilities. They marched on city streets, sidewalks, and highways. They dedicated their lives to make ours a country of equality for all.
